Being deployed during the holidays is one of the sacrifices active military duty face. No matter who, or where, they are, their unit becomes their substitute family. Please remember those who cannot be home this Christmas.
I received a special gift in 1968; I left the ground on a jet at 2:00 a.m. Christmas morning. Because of the time difference, by 9:00 a.m. Christmas morning in the states, I was celebrating with family. Pictures, however, suggest from the look on my face that I hadn’t left yet. A part of me never did.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
